Retrieve Document Text

This activity retrieves existing text from a Laserfiche or electronic document and stores it in a token. See the token this activity produces.

Tip: Using this activity in conjunction with the Pattern Matching activity can help you quickly extract useful information from pages of text.

Note: If the entry is an imaged document, the pages must be already OCRed to retrieve text. If the entry is an electronic document, the text must be already extracted to retrieve text. More information.

How does this activity look in the Designer Pane?

To add this activity to a workflow definition 

• Drag it from the Toolbox Pane and drop it in the Designer Pane.

To configure this activity

• Select the activity in the Designer Pane to configure the following property boxes in the Properties Pane.
• Activity Name
• Activity Description
• Pages to Retrieve
• Token Options
• Retrieve Text From

Note: If you have more than one connection profile for your workflow definition, the Connection Profile property box lets you specify which connection profile this activity will use.
